Atlas Hill

Atlas Hill is an Atlantic Canadian author who writes speculative fiction steeped in myth, memory, and the darkness hidden beneath human nature. Blending elements of science fiction, fantasy, and the paranormal, his stories explore survival, faith, identity, and the fragile line between monster and man.

He is polishing his recently finished frontier gothic novel, “The Long Country” the first of a saga “Lady of the Night,” his debut. Following a thousand-year-old vampire travelling west with a wagon train of prospectors during the California Gold Rush — a brutal journey across an untamed America where greed, violence, and ancient horrors walk side by side beneath endless prairie skies.

Atlas is currently at work on book one, "Unknown Faith", of the “Seeds of Faith,” trilogy spanning the First Crusade to the eve of the Reformation, tracing one woman's journey from the fall of Jerusalem to the walls of an English township — and the manuscript she leaves behind that history will never credit her for.

His latest inspiration: saga, “All that Whispers”. It narrates how half-elf assassin spares a child emperor and a Viking warrior loses his prophesied sister to the gods. These two marked souls on opposite sides of the world are set on a collision course with ancient exiled beings who whisper from beyond the veil of creation.

Drawing inspiration from folklore, theology, philosophy, and the raw beauty of the Canadian landscape, Atlas Hill crafts immersive worlds filled with morally complex characters, haunting atmospheres, and emotionally driven storytelling

Agent's note

Atlas Hill possesses a rare, chameleon-like talent to pivot from razor-sharp, snappy dialogue to sweeping, layered prose. We see this evolution in stark relief: from the evocative historical lyrical prose of "Seeds of Faith", to the brilliant structural complexity of "The Long Country" ("Lady of the Night")—anchored by three distinct narrators—and culminating in his epic fantasy saga, "All that Whispers," driven by two unforgettable protagonists.

In his fantasy work, Atlas sustains the emotional realism at the core of the story. He gets under the skin and into the mind of every character on the page, affording minor figures the same psychological weight as his central heroes.

Whether he delivers quick, gritty banter or elegant, immersive world-building, his talent for anchoring human trauma and resilience makes his work impossible to put down.
