Synopsis


Guilbert is a magnificent peacock raised in a small tailoring village by a sweet girl named Charlotte. When Charlotte’s family travels to Paris, Guilbert is left behind.

Eager to be kind and connect with the passing villagers, Guilbert begins pulling out his glittering tail feathers to give away to anyone who asks. Bit by bit, his glorious train vanishes.

Guilbert was inspired by my own childhood experiences and struggles. Through his story, I wanted to explore the innocence of childhood, how it can slowly and sometimes painfully be lost, and the important role adults play in preparing children for the world. As Guilbert's kindness is taken advantage of, he learns about self-worth, healthy boundaries, and that being kind should never mean allowing yourself to be hurt.
